I was in a Las Vegas taxi 3 weeks ago. Uber hasn't reached Vegas yet but I understand it's pretty close to being introduced. My driver was genuinely looking forward to Uber coming in and taking the Taxi/Cab industry out. It's the future, there's no way around that now, and he understood that and supported it.

He was so fed up of working long hours (11-12 hour shifts), being paid poorly and not being able to own his own car, own his own business. He wants Uber to be introduced purely so he can become part of it, not rally against it. He wanted to own his own car, work the hours he liked and most importantly, not be tarnished with the same views that the majority of the Taxi industry has earnt itself. He's aware people get bad drivers, get ripped off etc. The guy just wanted to relax, enjoy his work and enjoy his life.

Nice dude. Shared a handshake and pat on the back. All the best to him.
